Julie London passed away at the age of 74, on October 18, 2000.

She made the scene in 1950s and 1960s, and she was also on the screens. The greatest hit was “Cry Me A River,” but she sang any and all standards and released huge numbers of records.

It was Helen Merril who made “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To”vogue in Japan, and it was Julie in America.

She released not only LPs but also a lot of EPs. The photo on the left is one of the rare single records. Her voice is husky, and it is specially admired and called“Smokey Voice.”

Her husband was Bobby Troup, a famous song writer who wrote the tune anyone knows, “Route 66.” I like one of his works; “Girl Talk.”
