figure in bebop jazz.

| チャーリー・パーカーの後継者と言われたフィル・ウッズが2015年9月29日に83歳で死去した。実際、チャーリー・パーカーが34歳の若さで死去した後、残された未亡人と結婚し、子供たちの継父となった。文字通りの後継者だった。 |

バップの奏者なのだが、彼の名前を広めたのはPopsのレコードにも名演奏を残したからであろう。上記の”Just The Way You Are”では、ビリー・ジョエルのバックと間奏を吹いている。 昔、DOMINANTで佐藤さんが、♪Don't Go Chainging, to try and please me …と歌ってたのを思い出す。最近は同名異曲があるらしく、聞いたこともないBruno Marsという歌手がYou Tubeで出てくる。Billy Joelさえ古くなったらしい。爺ちゃんは驚きます。 |
