作詞・作曲はBuffy Sainte-Marie(1941-　)というカナダ生まれの原住民、つまりインデアンである。これまでいろいろなソングライターに出会ってきたが、原住民とは、これが初めてでびっくりしている。

2002年に結成したFemale Jazz Singers（FJS)のレパートリーに３声のコーラスに編曲までしたのだが、元歌を聴くことなしに譜面を書いた。耳から入っていたのは、お友達の杉ちゃんの名唱だったのです。杉ちゃんは男歌詞で歌っていました。
　

小難しい話だが、歌のリズムは４分の３拍子だが、譜割りは３連符×３を基本に書いた。杉ちゃんの歌い方がベースになっている。ところが、私がピアノ伴奏ではスローな８分の６拍子(２ビート）で弾いた。Buffyのギター弾き語りとまるで同じ形だ。歌う人には難しかったようだ。最近、彼女のYou Tubeが出ていたのを見つけた。

例によって、サンプル・コーラスですが女声キーで歌っています。低いので、何ともイイ感じになりました。
