Salena sings Classic Music Classic Salena

Joan Shaw (Salena Jones)

Salena says that she wants to try any songs of any genres. In this 1999, the CD "Romance with Beethoven, Bach...and Salena Jones"(VICJ60240) was released by Victor.

It's based on classical music. They are well known that "Stranger in Paradise" based on Borodin's "Polovtsian Dances" and "The Lamp is Low" based on the theme of "Pavane" by Ravel. But I guess it's so rare that 14 works of a whole album were made from classical music to contemporary music. She put the words into famous melodies together. The CD sold in Japan has Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata". The below is a list of the titles of the European version of that CD, called "Classic Salena".

1. NO OTHER LOVE (based on Etude in E Major by Chopin)

2. THESE ARE THE THINGS I LOVE (based on Symphony No.6 (Pathetique) in B minor Opus 74 by Tchaikovsky)

3. A SUMMER LOVE (based on the Adagio in G by Albinoni)

4. DON'T SPEAK OF ME (based on Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D known as "Air on the G String" by Bach)

10. MOONLIGHT LOVE (based on Clair de Lune No.3 from Suite Bergamasque by Debussy)

The above is the photo when Salena was young and was singing as "Joan Shaw". That stage name was named after her real name "Joan Elizabeth Shaw".
