(43) ロス・バーバー82歳で死去 And So, It's Over

Four Freshmen SocietyのChaz Coneからメールが入りました。「あっ」と思いました。いやな予感がありました。ロスが2011年8月20日に82歳と8ヶ月の人生に幕を閉じました。この１年ほどは肺がんと闘っていたのですが・・・

つい３ヶ月前にボブ・フラニガンが亡くなったばかりです。これで、オリジナル・メンバーは誰もいなくなりました。

フレッシュメンが結成された1948年から1977年（Group#1-#5）まで現役で歌いました。

1964年の来日時にグループ#４によって歌われたビデオクリップです。

It was with great sadness that I learned that our great friend (my hero) Ross Barbour passed away last Saturday, August 20th.

Ross had been battling cancer for more than a year; he died in his home Saturday night. His funeral will be a private one, family only.

Ross is survived by his wife Sue, their three children and four grandchildren. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, any remembrance you wish to make be made to the Four Freshmen Society. I've set up a web page to receive contributions:
